IrlandLloyd Irland, Lecturer in the Yale School of Forestry and Environmental Studies, is a recognized expert in resource management and government policy. The former State Economist and Director of the Bureau of Public Lands for the State of Maine, Dr. Irland has studied in Arizona, worked in 4 western states, and traveled in all the others. He borrows the term "Sagebrush Ocean" from Stephen Trimble's wonderful book of the same title. He attended the Copenhagen and Cancun UN Climate summits. He is the author of five books.Robert E. LangRobert E. Lang, UNLV Director, Brookings Mountain West, is a distinguished leader in the Las Vegas community. He has authored over 150 academic and professional publications on a wide range of topics, and has developed many new urban planning concepts such as "Boomburbs," " Edgeless Cities," and "Megapolitan Areas." His research has been featured in USA Today, The New York Times, Washington Post, Wall Street Journal, US News and World Report and reported on by NPR, CNN, MSNBC, FOX News, and ABC World News Tonight.The Yale Book AwardAnnually, Yale Clubs and Associations around the world recognize outstanding juniors in secondary schools by presenting books to them or their schools.
