Speaker Event: Professor David Malan - Embracing AI in CS50 at Yale and Beyond

With AI (Artificial Intelligence) being at top of mind for many Yalies, we have a relevant special speaker event on Monday, April 7, 2025. This exciting event was only recently arranged, and you are invited to attend.

The special speaker event at the beautiful UNLV Advanced Engineering Building is called “Embracing AI in CS50 at Yale and Beyond” led by special speaker Professor David Malan (bio below) who will be speaking about how CS50, a Computer Science course at Yale, has incorporated artificial intelligence (AI), including its new-and-improved rubber duck debugger.

SPEAKER BIO

Professor David Malan is a well-known computer science professor with courses offered at Harvard and Yale. He is the Harvard University Gordon McKay Professor of the Practice of Computer Science, Member of the Faculty of Education.

  • Instructor for CS50, among Harvard’s largest courses and largest MOOC on edX with 6.2M+ registrants, also offered at Yale University.

  • Oversees community of high schools teaching CS50 AP, College Board-endorsed adaptation.

  • Instructor for CS50 for MBAs at Harvard Business School and CS50 for JDs at Harvard Law School, higher-level adaptations of course for professional audiences.

  • Offers free courses available to the public as OpenCourseWare, with 1.9M subscribers on YouTube.
